Sankan-ou’s teppan yakiniku is a hot-plate dish of meat and cabbage that’s made to be enjoyed with rice. One visitor’s report describes gathering the fat released by the meat and vegetables at the lower edge of the griddle, then mixing in the spicy miso served at the table. Try the dish as it is to begin with, then add spicy miso or garlic later on for a change of flavour.
Meat portions range from a single serving at ¥1,080 to one and a half portions at ¥1,490, double at ¥1,980, and triple at ¥2,980. Rice comes in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes, so you can choose a lighter combination or a more filling meal to suit your appetite. Some diners pair the rice with miso soup or add a raw egg or onsen egg. Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label is also on the menu.
